In this privacy statement you can read how we handle your personal data.

This statement only applies to the platforms owned by the KNHB. The KNHB is not responsible for the privacy policy of other sites and (online) sources mentioned on our Platforms.

What is personal data and what is meant by processing of personal data?

Personal data refers to all information about an identified or identifiable person. Any data with which a person can be identified directly or indirectly is viewed as personal data. For example: your name, contact details and any other information that is or can be linked to you, including e-mail address, location data, login code, health data, bank details, etc.

During the processing of personal data every set of actions or any act concerning personal data needs to be understood.

Who controls the processing of your personal data?

The KNHB is responsible for the processing of your personal data. This implies that the KNHB determines the purposes and means for the processing itself and that the KNHB is responsible for complying to the regulations. We can be reached via privacy@knhb.nl.

Why do we use your personal data?

The KNHB processes your personal data for various purposes. We only process the necessary personal data.

Personal data is processed to achieve the following goals by the KNHB:

  • to be able to contact you;
  • to send you information;
  • to conclude and execute (member and other) agreements;
  • to inform and advise;
  • to making offers;
  • to conduct examinations;
  • for participation in panels;
  • to deal with complaints and compliments;
  • to deal with performance of disciplinary matters;
  • to be able to carry out advocacy.

Furthermore, we use your personal data for relationship management and to monitor the state of our membership base, volunteers and other people involved in growing the KNHB as well as to be able to inform you about our activities.

We try to take your preferences into account. However, if you no longer seen any value in receiving information from the KNHB, then KNHB will always offer you the opportunity unsubscribe from this.

Why would we process your personal data?

According to the legislation, in particular the AVG, the KNHB is only allowed to process personal data if one of the legal bases is applicable. The KNHB uses the following legal grounds for the processing of personal data:

A.   after obtaining permission from the person whose personal data we process;

B.   in the context of the formation and / or execution of an agreement;

C.   to comply with the law (including accounting, tax obligations and obligations in the context of court orders or other mandatory laws and regulations);

D.   in connection with the legitimate interests of the KNHB, where the KNHB ensures the impact on your privacy is as limited as possible.

For example, personal data is processed in the case of:

  • the creation of studies and statistics;
  • the exercising and defence of the rights of the KNHB, for example during disputes;
  • the management and support of members data, including the creation of segments and profiles or to detect the particular needs of members in order to better manage membership;
  • taking care of and improving the website, the KNHB can identify your click behaviour during visits to the website and in that way improve your experience based on this information. The logic behind this is that the KNHB can link your IP address to your actions and based on that, set your preferences. We always request your explicit permission in advance for this (see our cookie statement).

How long do we keep your personal data?

The KNHB does not store personal data any longer than required to realize the purposes for which the data is processed, in any case as long as the specific regulations stipulate.

How do we obtain your personal data?

If you are a member of a hockey club (association), the KNHB will receive certain personal details such as your name, address, age and e-mail address. The union number is only used for administrative and organizational purposes of the KNHB and your hockey club.

In other cases we obtain your personal data directly from you. For example: if you create an account, sign up for a course, sign up for a workshop, sign up for extra training or sign up for the newsletter. We will then process this data.
