What is personal data and what is meant by processing of personal data?
Personal data refers to all information about an identified or identifiable person. Any data with which a person can be identified directly or indirectly is viewed as personal data. For example: your name, contact details and any other information that is or can be linked to you, including e-mail address, location data, login code, health data, bank details, etc.
During the processing of personal data every set of actions or any act concerning personal data needs to be understood.
Who controls the processing of your personal data?
The KNHB is responsible for the processing of your personal data. This implies that the KNHB determines the purposes and means for the processing itself and that the KNHB is responsible for complying to the regulations. We can be reached via email@example.com.
Why do we use your personal data?
The KNHB processes your personal data for various purposes. We only process the necessary personal data.
Personal data is processed to achieve the following goals by the KNHB:
- to be able to contact you;
- to send you information;
- to conclude and execute (member and other) agreements;
- to inform and advise;
- to making offers;
- to conduct examinations;
- for participation in panels;
- to deal with complaints and compliments;
- to deal with performance of disciplinary matters;
- to be able to carry out advocacy.
Furthermore, we use your personal data for relationship management and to monitor the state of our membership base, volunteers and other people involved in growing the KNHB as well as to be able to inform you about our activities.
We try to take your preferences into account. However, if you no longer seen any value in receiving information from the KNHB, then KNHB will always offer you the opportunity unsubscribe from this.
Why would we process your personal data?
According to the legislation, in particular the AVG, the KNHB is only allowed to process personal data if one of the legal bases is applicable. The KNHB uses the following legal grounds for the processing of personal data:
A. after obtaining permission from the person whose personal data we process;
B. in the context of the formation and / or execution of an agreement;
C. to comply with the law (including accounting, tax obligations and obligations in the context of court orders or other mandatory laws and regulations);
D. in connection with the legitimate interests of the KNHB, where the KNHB ensures the impact on your privacy is as limited as possible.
For example, personal data is processed in the case of:
- the creation of studies and statistics;
- the exercising and defence of the rights of the KNHB, for example during disputes;
- the management and support of members data, including the creation of segments and profiles or to detect the particular needs of members in order to better manage membership;
- taking care of and improving the website, the KNHB can identify your click behaviour during visits to the website and in that way improve your experience based on this information. The logic behind this is that the KNHB can link your IP address to your actions and based on that, set your preferences. We always request your explicit permission in advance for this (see our cookie statement).
How long do we keep your personal data?
The KNHB does not store personal data any longer than required to realize the purposes for which the data is processed, in any case as long as the specific regulations stipulate.
How do we obtain your personal data?
If you are a member of a hockey club (association), the KNHB will receive certain personal details such as your name, address, age and e-mail address. The association gives this information to the KNHB after your registration. The KNHB then links this data to a union number. The union number is only used for administrative and organizational purposes of the KNHB and your hockey club.
In other cases we obtain your personal data directly from you. For example: if you create an account, sign up for a course, sign up for a workshop, sign up for extra training or sign up for the newsletter. We will then process this data.
1. Create an account
To use certain parts of our Platforms, you first need to create an account. After you have created your account, we will save your data so that when you log in you can receive a personalized news overview (hockey.nl) as well as, for example, have the ability to respond to messages.
To create an account, we ask for the following information:
- Date of birth
- Union number
- E-mail address
- Photo (optional)
If you are a member of a hockey club (or are registered as holding a position within the association) and your union number is a part of this data (name, date of birth, gender and e-mail address) then this will already be known to KNHB. It is possible to give another email address or name that is not known to the KNHB when you create an account. However, this will not be changed in the membership administration of the KNHB.
If you delete your account, the personal information that you have given relating to your account will also be deleted.

2. Subscribe to the Newsletter
You can subscribe to the hockey.nl newsletter. We will keep you up to date with all the hockey news via the newsletter. Your e-mail address will be automatically added to the mailing list of the newsletter. In every newsletter there is a link whereby you can unsubscribe if you no longer wish to receive the newsletter.
To whom do we provide your personal data?
We use third parties to manage our Platforms. It can occur that these third parties have access to your personal data. If that is the case, we take the appropriate measures to ensure that your data is adequately secured and used exclusively for the intended purposes. The KNHB will under no circumstances sell or share your personal data to third parties.
1. The passing on and receiving of personal data within the KNHB
The KNHB can exchange your (personal) data between the various employees and volunteers within the organization, in so far as this is necessary to achieve the necessary data processing aims.
2. The passing on and receiving of data outside the KNHB
The processing of your personal data may require us to share personal data with other organizations. However, without your explicit permission or legal obligation, this exchange of data is done solely on the basis of the implementation of the agreement between you and the KNHB or when the KNHB has a legitimate interest to do this
3. No commercial use
The KNHB will not sell your personal data or make your data commercially available to third parties, except as described in this privacy statement. Additional conditions that may be relevant must be declared applicable via a decision from the General Meeting.
The KNHB has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to implement and secure personal data against loss or any form of unlawful processing. The KNHB has established a policy on security information which abides to the physical, organizational and electronic measures that have been taken in this respect. Your data is transmitted via secure connections over the internet. We contractually bind third parties who are engaged in the management and development of the Platforms with the compulsory obligation to respect the confidentiality of your data.
View, delete and change: what are your privacy rights?
You have the right to access, correct, restrict or request the removal of your personal data. You can also request a transfer of your data. Finally, you can object to the use of your data. If the processing of your data has been based on permission, you can retract this permission at any time. You can submit, in written format, a request to email@example.com in this regard. You will receive an answer as soon as possible. Questions by members of the KNHB who are also members of an affiliated association with KNHB must be addressed to their own club (association) first.
